I detest studying!

The examination is starting on Monday and yet I don't feel prepared at all. I figured out that I should take a break (FREAKING THREE MONTHS) from studying after Os. This way, I won't have to study so hard for my Prelims. HAHA. Isn't it a brilliant idea? Anyway, I plan to go to LaSalle-sia Collage of the Arts and take up interior designing.

• BA (Hons) Interior Design

Students opting to exit at the end of level 2 will graduate with a Diploma in Interior Design.

As we spend a great deal of our time indoors, the interior provides a backdrop for much of what we do, and we, in turn give much to the architecture that houses our activities. Designing spaces is a process of orchestrating and optimising relationships, of creating or changing existing situations to reflect preferred environments for human activities. The relationship between the body and space, subject and object, consciousness and sublime are all constantly being challenged and redefined. The required speed and fluidity in our response demands an equally adaptable set of analytical tools, design approaches and production methods.

This programme embraces a holistic and critical approach towards the production of interior environments. Your role in the design process demands the acquisition
and development of knowledge, skills, reflection and understanding that is then
tested through practical application. All designs demand a sense of enquiry,
commitment, self-discipline, development of a personal design process and an
ability to conceptualise, reflect, practise and apply a given set of skills and
intellectual discipline into production work.

CAREERS: Interior Desinger, Design Educator, Event/Exhibiton Designer, Furniture Designer and Prop/Set/Stage
Designer

Jacinda and I played pool today. My cueball JUMPED and FLEW instead of rolling! Malina says it is my technique, but no matter how much I attempted to change my technique, it never seemed to work. GOODNESS GRACIOUS.

I'm having a date with Xinya tomorrow! I missed her so much! Haven't spent quality time (mugging) nor seen her for the whole week! OOH, and I just heard a piece of good news from RUbbish (I think she likes to be called this, and I have yet to figure out why), that Nair is SAVED. I'm so glad for her. (: Hope to see her around in church more often from now onwards.

Alright, I'm done for the day.

GOODBYE WORLD,
Janine.

After a long break...

YO YO YO! I'm finally back to blogging because FBR suggested that.

So now FBR and NS have their iPods already and I'm the only one left! Mom promised to go iPod shopping with me tomorrow! WOOHOO. She is my SUPERWOMAN! Love ya, Mom!

I can't decide whether to purchase the black or white one though. HELP ME PLEASE?

I'm using my Mommy's lappie now cause I FREAKING SPOILT MINE. Oh my goodness! I brought it to school in my school bag, couldn't take the weight of the bag, and kept throwing my bag on the floor.

Dad said it was beyond repair so he got me this hard disk drive to save all my files. Mom didn't know about it and bought a 1GB thumbdrive for me too. If only I can study and save those information into the thumbdrive and bring it along with me into the examination hall... I'll be a happy and smart girl :D

I can't wait for tomorrow's National Day celebration, other than not having nice clothing to wear. I want to sing songs and do the spastic yet fun mass dance! I hope the teachers wouldn't be so repulsive as to catch me in my birkenstock and red toe nails. They need to get a life, seriously.

OKAY, I'm lazy to continue blogging. I hope I can start my entries in my Xanga soon! WOOHOO.

NIGHTIES,
Janine.

Straits Time CIP day.

Fairuz, Diana and I met at 10plus yesterday morning. We had to do CIP for the Straits Time newspaper, and we had to sell albums for $15 each. We took both Shift 1 and 2 cause we badly needed the CIP hours. We were considered quite good as the three of us managed to sell 15 albums in total while the rest of the students sold 13 albums only. So they asked us to come back again to help them with the sales.

All we did was to sit at Suntec's Coffeebean and called our friends up and promoted the cd to them. HAHAHA. Aloysious was really nice to come all the way from Pasir Ris to Suntec just to buy one album from us. Yu Ting bought one too.

But we did a lot of work on our part too. We had to call all our friends whom we think would not mind buying a $15 cd from us, persuading and begging them. Diana even whined to one of her friends. Fairuz helped most of them pay first. She forked out a total of $150 and she could not buy her Birkenstock after that.

Many thanks to all the people who bought the cd from us.

  1. Diana
  2. Fairuz
  3. Random generous woman + Fairuz + Me
  4. Jkok
  5. Calsia
  6. Aloysious
  7. Yu Ting
  8. Fairuz's mother
  9. Fairuz's friend, Vanessa
  10. Diana's friend, Nicole
  11. Clara
  12. Cynnthia
  13. Sylviane
  14. Jennifer
  15. Jeanette

Thank you very much! Remember to return Fairuz the money for her Birkenstock! (I don't even think those people read my blog, but nevertheless!)

So, we are going back on another Saturday to do two shifts again, but we have run out of people to call already. We already made plans for that particular Saturday.

And the three of us have a secret date tomorrow afternoon! I CANNOT WAIT.

LOVE,
Janine.

Chinese O Levels Oral Examination.

MY, OH MY. I took my Chinese Oral Examination this afternoon after school. I must admit that my reading improved a lot since the last time I took the Oral examination around April-May period. But my conversation was a total disappointment! My brain was not functioning properly then! HOW SAD. I cry a million tears.

Before the oral, Clara, Hui Yun and I were busy reading millions of Chinese passages. Then Clara's friend joined us and we starting slacking. Sylviane was nice today. She helped me out with the difficult Chinese words even though she sniggered at me! And Sam used this su2 yu3 on me,

ping3 shi3 bu4 shao1 xiang1, ling3 shi3 bao4 fo3 jiao3 (I'm not sure about the han yu pin yin.)
I think it's something like last minute studying is of no use. Sam is a stupid cow!

I'm quite happy for GRACE DARLING! (haha, it's weird calling her that.) She has improved tremendously and the examiners even praised her! WOOHOO.

My examiners were two boring female teachers from China! How awful! I was hoping for a handsome male teacher so I would at least maintain eye contact with him.

CHINESE ORAL IS FINALLY OVER! NO MORE SPEAKING OF CHINESE FOR ME. WOOOHOOO! I'm so loving it.

I think I'm changing my mindset about Physical Education now. We're having YOGA instead of doing stupid foot drills and running around the track aimlessly.

ALRIGHT, till the next time people!

LOVE,
Janine.

Last gathering before school reopens

Just came home. The eight of us met up at Suntec today for a gathering since all of us have not met up for the whole june holiday. Lelin, the only active one, was the one who called for this gathering. Haha, if not for her, there wouldn't be today!

We went to Fish N Co for dinner and eight of us had to squeeze into a six-people table. At first we had two tables for ourselves, but we had to give up one table later on. I did not order anything as I spent most of my money on the cab fare, which was freaking $20.30, and I forgot to take money from home. How dumb of me.

We took many pictures at the Fountain of Wealth. My camera's remote control came really handy as we took a few nice pictures with the help of it.

After that, I had to watch Scary Movie 4 with them. They cheated me! I thought we would be watching the King and the Clown (or something similar) It was all about ALIEN INVASION. OH MY. How dumb la. I shan't be a spoiler anymore. Watch it yourself! Tasha had already left by then.

Okay, I shall upload the pictures now as I'm lazy to blog.

At Fish N Co.

We were a little off centre.

I tried the Night mode but it turned out like this. What a horrible camera!

Spastic shots are still the best! (Look at Fairuz!)

Pretty us!

Xinru is currently using photoshop to do some nice editing. She's doing one on Singapore Idol and Miss Universe. HAHA. and I shall upload them later!

From here onwards, all credits goes to TAN XIN RU.

Done by TAN XIN RU. Cute right!

An artistic shot of Xinya.

Alright, its going to be two in the morning and I still wanna talk on the phone. Bro's making soup for me now. MUAHAHAHA.

Good night everyone!

Love,
Janine.

The tiles make me really happy.

I've been playing mahjong with my siblings for two days already. Yesterday, we played until around one-thirty in the morning. We had to stop just now because I threw a tile at my bro and it somehow flew out of my room and disappeared. What a mystery. So we had to stop the game and look for the missing tile but to no avail.

I hope Mom wouldn't mind. (:

Mom's gonna bring us to Marriott Hotel for buffet dinner later and then shopping! But I think I shall just have the ala carte dinner as I don't think I would be able to finish seven plates like the previous time.

Ooh, Brocks came back yesterday to play friendly game with the juniors. But only five of us came and Jasmine Kok was really sad as she was the organizer. Poor thing. Sui Hui lost touch with netball already, and she made a lot of "steppings" (more like jogging on court). But it felt really nice playing netball with them again.

However, I don't think I shall play netball in JC as it is tough and I won't be able to survive the trainings. I am considering archery since I still have the stupid bow and arrow set that Dad bought for me when I was took up archery in Primary 5. Malita says we will have to do weights and that's really traumatizing.

I wouldn't mind golf. But I suppose if I attempt to play golf, the club would fly off my hand. It happened before when I was like a little girl of the age of five-seven. :-{ (HEY I HAVE A MOUSTACHE!)

Alright, time to bathe.

Till the next entry,
Janine

Window shopping!

We had our last Literature seminar today. After that, Jacinda, Malina and I went over to Cineleisure for lunch. Jacinda and I couldn't finish our bowl of noodles, and I really felt bad wasting food again. After lunch, we hit the streets.

We went to Zara and tried on many clothes. I took the yellow blouse that I liked at first sight while shopping with Xinya two days ago. It was really fun trying on so many weird clothing. I took this green shorts and pokadot blouse too. Bloody spastic.

I secretly took this while in the fitting room so that I can look at it as and when I want to! Weeheex!

Malina looks really amused!

Okay, a decent shot. OH MY, MY TUMMY LOOKS AS BLOATED AS A BALLOON THAT IS GOING TO BURST ANY MOMENT. How distressing!

Back into our own clothes.

There wasn't anything in TopShop and we headed for home shortly after.

I had been blogging on my Hong Kong trip for the whole afternoon, which means that I practically slacked the whole day. Still in the midst of the entry. Hope to finish it soon.

I'm craving for the big packet of Cheezels now!!! I hope Jacinda buys that tomorrow when she comes over and we're going to watch KOREAN DRAMAS. Oh how wonderful!!! Haha, what has come into me man.

Love,
Janine.

I had a bad day.

I gave up on studying for Biology after mugging for two chapters, which are

  1. Nutrition in Plants
  2. Transport in Plants

Oh my, how stupid it is to study plants. I mean, how would I benefit (other than having good grades) knowing that xylem transports water and mineral salts from the roots to leaves or that plants need carbon dioxide, water, light energy and chlorophyll to photosynthesize. Even a doctor does not need to know all these, unless I want to become a plant doctor in the future, WHICH IS TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE AND SENSELESS of me to do so. Goodness.

My Chemistry is no better than my Biology. Just yesterday we had Chemistry lessons (the rest had Biology in the morning, just that I woke up when the lesson started), and Ms Begam was rewarding the class with cheap-skate chocolates should they answer a question regarding Organic Chemistry correctly. I was feeling insouciant and had no mood to answer any questions.

I'm starting to worry for my Os already. I attempted the amath June Holiday Assignment 1 this afternoon. Out of eight sums, I only managed to solve one. ONE. How pathetic is ONE, compared to the prc scholars whom I am very sure would be able to finish both Assignment 1 and 2 if they were given the time that I took to think and attempt the questions. How depressing.

I have thus come to the conclusion that I can do neither math nor science which therefore equates to me having no talent at all, since the Singapore government emphasizes so strongly on those subjects.

So much for me being a mugger.

Another depressing thing that happened was that one of my many pet hamsters died last night due to some unknown disease. I was watching it struggle to catch its last breath on my brother's palm and after a minute or so, it stopped breathing. Just that afternoon, I washed and scrubbed the entire "two-storey house" and bathed it as ants were crawling all over it. And this morning, my sister told me that another hamster died as well. So we're left with only eleven hamsters now. She was weeping so sorrowfully that I felt sorry for her.

I have never thought that the hamsters would die, which is a silly thing, since all living things have to die someday. I have thus decided that I shall never own a pet or keep plants in my house in the future.

Alright, enough rambling for the night. This is so aggravating and making me so depressed. Those lugubrious moods are troubling me again. Goodbye fellow muggers, I shall pack my luggage now and get ready for Tuesday. Can't wait to shop till I drop in Hong Kong.

The grieved one,
Janine.

Cross Country / Big Walk

The five of us, excluding the trackers, plus Diana and Gwendoline decided to slack for this year's cross country. I gave up aiming for Top 20 after failing for three consecutive years. My last year's position was utterly aggravating - 21th.

Xinru, Diana and I brought our cameras along with us. It was so fun! We strolled the entire 3.2km journey, apart from the last 100m when all of us sprinted to the finishing line, hoping not to be the last girl to finish the run. We took pictures with the teachers-in-charge along the journey with the help of the two sweepers just behind us. I must admit that I regretted running so hard for the past three years after enjoying myself tremendously that day, without any stress. I didn't even get sun burnt.

The five of us before the run, all nice and neat.

As we begin our walk, with Xinru and Grace leading...

Xinya, demonstrating the "ah ma" style of walking.

Our first stop, with Miss Tan.

As we walked up the steep slope...

As we walked beside the expressway...

The two lovely and patient sweepers!

We FINALLY completed the journey slightly after half an hour.
WOoooooOOooOoo!!!

After that, I met up with Jkok to lunch at SakaeSushi. We did not really eat as much as we wanted to as we had no appetite. I gobbled up three plates of fried tofu and she had three bowls of miso soup. AND WE TOOK NEOPRINTS TOO. So childish! I haven't taken those for ages. I showed Xinya the neoprints and she said that we looked like a couple! I thought I looked damn lian with my hair let down then. HoRriBlexXx.

She's forever acting cute la!!!!!

Last Sunday, I woke up at 6am just to accompany my mom to the Big Walk event. She wanted to go but none of us was interested. I thought that since the day before was her birthday, I would go along to make her happy. We saw really weird people there, and I managed to capture a few shots of them.

The start of the Big Walk.

We were greeted by this weird looking man hoping along the entrance to block people's way.

He looks like a monster la.

The stupid frog again. I was so amused by him that I had to take this.

Cardboard robots! (I think.)

I wonder how he is going to tahan the 10km walking like this.

The king of all dogs.

THE END POINT!

We didn't really walk 10km as my mom was too lazy to complete the whole thing. We walked a total of 8km only. Haha, nevertheless it was a good walk. The weather was good too. The sun was hidden behind the clouds most of the time.

___________________________________

My sis came back from China on Saturday and she was really sweet to get me this lovely top from Hard Rock Cafe. Hohoho. She got my mom tea leaves as a birthday gift. Really cute of her. I missed her when she was away for a week!

Oh, I have yet to talk about my results. HOHO, it is rather okay, considering the amount of effort I put into studying. My L1R5, 23 points, was better than what I had expected myself to get. My Literature came to me as a shock and I was utterly disappointed with my English results, especially my compo. I was amused that my Emath failed by one mark.

I finally bought a new wallet on Saturday after losing my wallet in January last year. Haha. Xinya bought a pink one of the same design too! Now we have same school bags and wallets. :D
After she left for her tuition, I went over to Suntec to meet up with Jkok again! I'm seeing her so often these few days. Haha. Oh did I mention that my mom thinks she's PRETTY?! AND I'M UGLY!!!!!?????!!!!?!?!!?! Oh, how depressing la.

The Ugly and Pretty. (This was our first time taking picture together! HOW COOL!)

Alright, going off now.

Farelywell!

The last MindChamps Course

My Saturdays are finally FREE. For the past 2 months, I had been attending courses every Thursday (6.oopm-9.30pm) and Saturday (10am-5.30pm). It had been a killer. I must admit that I felt quite sad when yesterday was to be the last course.

We were supposed to prepare a speech for our parents who were arriving at 4pm. Jamie and I prepared a last minute speech at Mac before the course started. Oh, and I saw Wan Ru at Mac!

We were supposed to give a trial run in front of the whole class before the parents came, and when it was my turn, I went up in front of the class and gave a really impromptu one which my trainer said it was really good and that it came from the heart. And that my parents would be touched listening to my speech. HAHA! Of course la! Before my turn, I kept memorizing the points that I was supposed to say and during the trial, I used the draft that I did to help me remember the points.

My draft.

At 4pm, the parents entered the classroom BUT my Mom was nowhere to be seen. Typical her! Dad wasn't coming due to work. My friends and I were complaining about how embarrassing it was for our parents to enter the classroom while the others were giving their speeches! Their parents shortly arrived one after another BUT my Mom was still not here! I was beginning to feel worried as I was No.13 to give the speech.

Preparing for the parents arrival.

Mom finally arrived at 4.45pm when Diyana, the tenth person was giving her speech. I felt much relieved after her arrival. After Jamie's and Kate't turn, I had to go up to give my speech again. I went up there without a clue as to what I was supposed to say as by then, I had already forgotten all my points.

My speech went something like this...

Hi. Good evening everyone. I am Janine and today I'm going to talk about my parents and the little things they do for us that really mean a lot to me.

I would like to thank my Mom for always being there for me and the little things she does for us. For example, she wakes up the earliest during school days just to prepare breakfast for us and she even makes the effort to to prepare different food for us each morning. I feel that it's really nice of her to sacrifice her sleep just to make sure that we do not feel hungry during lesson time.

And that she cares for her children more than she cares for herself. Whenever she goes for shopping, she wouldn't forgot about her children and would buy stuff for us too. And when I said I needed tuition, she immediately went around looking for tutors for me.

It's really hard to bring up four children, but she manages it so well. (This was BLOODY IMPROMPTU)

And she's a great cook! (I forgot my lines and added this in last minute!!!!! OH MY, by then I was already panicking as I forgot everything so I added some stupid stuff too) Oh, she provides me with food, shelter, money and education and I'm really grateful for these. (It was supposed to be my conclusion for my parents but I couldn't think of anything else)

And and, she's always including me for facials! (Everyone started laughing)

(I forgotten my points about her providing me with a listening ear everytime I rambled about school life and teachers and that she was a really independent and strong woman and I want to be like her and that she's my superwoman!)

And I'm also grateful for my Dad. Because of his work, he usually comes home way past midnight, but that never stops him from waking up as early as 6am the next morning just to fetch me and my sister to school. It's really cool of him to sacrifice his sleep just to make sure we don't have to take the public transport to school, like many of my friends. Sometimes, he wakes up earlier than me just to wake me up too. And because of his work, we never have dinner with him, and it's a rather sad thing but he makes the effort to bring us out for family meals during weekends.

Whenever he comes home earlier, like around 11pm, he would call home to ask what we want for supper and it's really nice of him to do so.

I really appreciate my parents. They let me make my own decisions and this really make me more independent and decisive. (I forgot to mention about the example that I talked about during the trial and I couldn't mention about them providing me with the food, shelter, money, education AS I HAD ALREADY MENTIONED IT EARLIER, which means I had nothing else to say. I quickly proceeded to my conclusion...)

From this, I conclude that we should all never take things for granted and we should cherish everyone around us. (AND I STUPIDLY ADDED ONE DUMB AND TOTALLY IRRELEVANT POINT) We should never regret our decisions. And Happy Mother's Day to all mothers here, especially to my Mom! Thank you. (I can't remember if I bowed)

Alamak, that was how it went. Totally screwed, compared to the trial one. I was smiling and smiling nonstop. The rest assured me that it was a good one though. I could see my Mom from where I was standing and I'M SURE I saw her wiping her eyes! Hoho.

I think I'll miss Toa Payoh after the course. I used to abhor that place as there was nothing appealing there.

I took pictures with some of my friends there.

Me and Yan Ru.

Me and Vivian.

Me and Kate!

Kate, Me, Jamie, Adeline.

The whole class with Charmaine (the trainer)

Alright, that's all!
Goodbye!

Janine.

Post exam Activities!

Hello, exams are finally over! I realise someone keeps adding entries for me! My goodness. Anyway, we took our last paper today, which is Literature, and it was much easier than I had expected!

Fairuz, Xinru and I were revising a few minutes before Paper 2. I said that should "Theme of Love" come out, I would just start laughing in the hall. AND IT REALLY DID COME OUT! I did not read up on the notes as I thought that Mr Sng would not be so kind to test us on this theme. BLOODY COW, moo moo. I only did The English Teacher notes during the weekend and started Shakespeare revision last night at 2330h! Was so worried that I called Fairuz up to seek comfort, knowing that she wouldn't study too, and I was right! She was still online chatting with Diana who totally forgotten about my birthday! Stupid girl.

Anyhow, we went to SakaeSushi for buffet lunch today. It was quite stupid as it started only at 3pm and we reached town at 1pm! So we ended up wandering around The Heeren which is a really boring place. I was in search of a white long-sleeve blouse to match the red tie I got from Matt. (Thanks again, btw!) The one that I had was rather transparent. Not the ideal one. Xinya, Fairuz, Tasha and I ended up in one table and the rest in the other. Xinya and I managed 25 plates between us only. Rather lan pok as the other table had 40-over plates.

Xinya's and my pile!

Then we combined forces!

Oh the tower of plates!

I think she's embarrassed eating too much.

Meanwhile, Fairuz listens to her ipod and drifts off to her lalaland...

There was a big rain after that and our initial plan to go to the twins house was called off, so we all headed for home.

My boring sixteenth birthday celebration at home. (060506)

I had my Mindchamps course from 10ooh-1730h that day and when I reached there, I realised that we were supposed to sit for a test later! My goodness, I was in a frenzy and started panicking and worrying that I would fail the test and have to come back for the same module again. NO way man. Jamie was trying very hard to calm me down. Haha. During the test, I realised that it was doable and not really that tough afterall. Birthday luck huh.

After the course, Jkok met up with me with a motive!!!!!!!! To go to Swensen's and have the free firehouse ice cream! LOL. Always taking advantage of me. So I decided to take advantage of her too. I made her do my Chinese tuition compo while I enjoyed the icecream and fries. Haha. She then followed me home to get my Geography textbook and tys for some random GP project on Development. We also went into Lee Hwa to check the price of the earrings my mother got for me and mothercow, I had a shock of my life.

My Chinese tuition started from 730-900h that day. I came home late and she had to wait for me. She was really amused with my reading that day, I remembered her laughing nonstop when I forgot to read "yang3" (tai4 yang3 - sun) She made me do some Primary Five close passage as she thought that it wasn't the right time for me to start on Secondary school standard. AND I FREAKING HELL FAILED IT. OH MY GOODNESS. I CANNNOT EVEN MANAGE A P5 CLOSE PASSAGE. So much for aiming for an A1 in Chinese. (And the worst thing is that I told her about my target)

After my tuition, my family celebrated my birthday with me, which was rather pathetic, but its the thought that counts la! Haha, and I don't really bother about stupid birthday celebrations as it's so primary school.

The cake.

Sis and me.

I managed to take both of them without themselves realising! HA!

Mugging day in school's library (080506)

I reached school aroung 0900h and went up to the library to start work first. The rest joined me shortly after and during brunch break, all of them were relieving stress by playing the animal game where they choose the animal biscuits from the packet and versus one another. I decided that I was too mature, being a sixteen-year-old-girl, to join them, thus resulting in being the photographer. They continued playing the game in the library and upgraded the game by adding some spastic actions. Really idiot to watch from outsiders point of view. Nevertheless, I was thoroughly amused and entertained.

Our usual mugging place.

The packet of biscuits that caused them to lose their sanity!!!

Okay, WHAT is Sam doing?

It must be really funny.

Now for our POST EXAM ACTIVITIES...

We decided to play for two weeks (one week for me, since I'll be going to Hong Kong for shopping for a week during the June Hols) and then start cramming for the entire June Holiday.

**The list is not completed yet as we have not think of other places to explore and gallivant.

Alright peeps, that's all for today.

Till the next time!

Love much,
Janine.
